Elder Tawana D. Ricks
Evangelist, Composer, Psalmist, Worshipper
Tawana
Denise Ricks was born in Wilmington, Delaware on Valentine’s Day to
Elder Tyson E. Williams and Apostle Patricia C. Williams. Tawana was educated
in various schools throughout New Castle County, graduated from Newark High
School in 1987 and attended Virginia Union University on an athletic scholarship.
Tawana was raised in the church. Singing by the time
she could talk. Tawana and her younger sister Theresa “Treety” Williams
would display their gifts singing duets at St. Paul’s UAME Church. Her
love for the singing ministry was shown as she actively participated in various
groups and choirs such as the Gospel Vessels, Minster Walter Brown & Praise
and the Daughters of Faith, which was led by Tawana’s aunt Pastor Linda Henry.
Ministering to large crowds at the Bobby Jones Show and the Gospel Workshop
of America helped to prepare Tawana for the call that God was placing on her
life. A call to evangelize to the masses that God was a healer and a deliverer.
Married for the past seven loving years to Elder
Chaun Ricks, Tawana is the proud mother of three children Myesha, Denzel and
Briyona and is the primary caregiver to her cousin Dayshanay. She currently
owns and operated the Little Angels Daycare and stays busy offering her administrative
services to her local church.
With a message of hope to women who are troubled
with domestic and emotional problems and a strong love to see the youth receive
the promise of the Holy Ghost and it’s power, Evangelist Ricks began to preach
the Word of God with power and demonstration. As her ministry gifts grew and
her knowledge of the word of God increased, Evangelist Ricks was ordained as
an elder in The Glorious Full Gospel Tabernacle Center and set in the office
of Youth Pastor where she works hand in hand with her husband, mother and father.
Choir director, wife, worship leader, financial administrator, youth pastor,
Sunday School Superintendent, composer, arranger, producer, daughter and friend.
. . . all these things embodied in one woman but her most important title is
being the “called” of God. Her ministry has taken her in new territories
with a significant message to those who have been oppressed at the hands of
the enemy. . . YOU WILL SURVIVE.
